The mysteries surrounding Apple’s new wearable are over.

At the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, Apple revealed what future watch-wearers had been wanting to know for months: when it was going to be available, how much it would cost, and what comes with it.

If you need a refresher, the Apple Watch is one of (if not the) most customizable product the company has made, with three different base models, two sizes, and half-a-dozen different watch colors and strap bands.

The models come with a range of apps, including many that mirror what’s on the iPhone (including Contacts, Maps, and Music), along with its voice-activated assistant Siri. It alsoworks with Apple Pay, the company’s own contactless payments service, and a health monitor with two dedicated apps.

That, paired with numerous other advances, helped the 12-inch MacBook become the slimmest, lightest MacBook ever—and it’s silent, too.

Grieving sonA grieving son has accused Apple of having an ‘utter lack of understanding and discretion’ after the company refused to unlock his dead mother’s iPad – and asked for written permission from her.

Josh Grant, 26, from London, became the co-executor of his mother Anthea Grant’s will and estate with his brother Patrick when she passed away from breast cancer, aged 59, earlier this year.

He said his mother enjoyed playing games on the iPad after her husband died in 2010 and said she liked its raft of new security measures since updating to iOS7.

However, when the brothers contacted Apple following their mother’s death on January 19, they were told they would need ‘written permission’ from their mother to access the account.

Google has confirmed for the first time that it plans to offer connectivity directly to mobile users in the U.S., but a senior executive downplayed the competition it would be to major U.S. cellular carriers.Several reports have said the company is preparing a service that would be offered across an existing cellular network under a Google brand — a so-called “mobile virtual network operator” or MVNO. But the reports hadn’t been confirmed until Sundar Pichai, the company’s senior vice president, spoke at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Monday.”You’ll see us announce it in the coming months,” said Pichai.

Pichai said it won’t be a full-service mobile network in competition with existing carriers.

Instead, he said, it will give Google a platform through which it can experiment with new services for Android smartphones.

Advocates for open access to the Internet were popping champagne corks on Thursday after the Federal Communications Commission voted in favor of reclassifying broadband Internet as a public utility. In addition to regulating fixed broadband lines that go into your home, the FCC vote also extended public utility rules to mobile broadband for the first time.

The FCC vote means that Internet service providers (ISPs) will be required by law to respect the principles of net neutrality. But what exactly does that mean, and why are so many people celebrating the FCC’s ruling while others are cursing it?

This morning the FCC voted to protect real Net Neutrality — marking the biggest victory for the public interest in the agency’s history.

That’s right. We won.

Even a few months ago this victory didn’t seem possible. Last May, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler ignored the public call for real Net Neutrality — and instead released a proposal that would have allowed pay-to-play fast lanes online.

Comcast and its pals thought they’d won the fight. But Free Press members and millions of people across the country proved them wrong. After a year of relentless activism, Wheeler reversed course — moving to give Internet users the strongest protections possible under Title II of the Communications Act.
