Making Thanksgiving a little less stressful and more fun this year with a “High Tech Thanksgiving”
We scoured the internet for holiday products with one thing in common, better technology. After all,
this is the future right, we may not have flying cars yet but at least we can have a fried turkey without the fear of burning down the garage this year…

1.)    Thanksgiving Menu Apps – As the family cook, I’m always looking for ways to improve the Thanksgiving Day Fest. You would think, there must be a better way to server canned cranberries right? Well there is…

iOS –                           Thanksgiving Menu Maker from Fine Cooking

Android –                  Thanksgiving Recipes HD

2.)    Char-Broil OIL-FREE Infrared Turkey Fryer – There will be NO fire trucks at this guy’s home this year.  I know, some people love the adventure of cooking their bird in molten lava with the chance of …

Apple's 'record' Q4: 33.8 million iPhones, 14.1 million iPads sold

Apple_bite

Rachel King – CNet News

Following mixed reviews of its latest iPad line refresh last weekApple kicked off the week with its fiscal fourth quarter earnings report, hitting all analyst targets.

The iPhone maker reported a net income of $7.5 billion, or $8.31 per share (statement). Non-GAAP earnings were $8.26 per share on a revenue of $37.5 billion.

Wall Street was looking for earnings of at least $7.93 on a revenue of $36.84 billion.

Apple shares were up slightly just before the closing bell rang on Monday.

Cupertino was quick to describe Q4 as a “record September quarter” with iPhone sales up by approximately 26 percent annually to 33.8 million units. That figure was undoubtedly helped by the the unveiling of the new iPhones 5C and 5S last month.

Nevertheless, even as iPad sales continue to grow, Mac figures demonstrate Apple is not immune to the PC industry woes either.

iPad sales were up slightly annually to 14.1 million units versus 14 million, while Mac sales were down from 4.9 million in the year-ago quarter to 4.6 million units this time around.

For the fiscal first quarter, Wall Street is banking big time on a combination …

Thanks to blockbuster sales of the entry-level Lumia 520, Nokia recorded its best-ever quarter for Windows Phone sales, with 8.8 million units sold in the quarter ending September 30. Intel says get ready for $99 tablets, $299 Haswell notebooks, $349 2-in-1 hybrids

ZDNet Adrian Kingsley-Hughes Oct. 16, 2013

Intel chief executive Brian Krzanich says that he expects OEMs to push prices down over the coming weeks, and that this will result in $99 tablets, $299 Haswell laptops, and $349 2-in-1 hybrid tablets and notebooks.

Speaking during a conference call yesterday, Krzanich told analysts that touchscreen-based notebooks based on the company’s new Haswell processors will be at the heart of this year’s holiday PC lineup.

Intel is pinning a lot of hopes on its Haswell silicon, and that the 50 percent better battery life offered by the chips, combined with double the graphics power will tempt buyers away from spending their money on Android and iOS tablets and instead encourage them to give the PC a second chance.

For devices build around the Bay Trail silicon, Krzanich believes that there will be eight to 10 clamshell models available at the $299 price point.
