The Digital Fight Against Cancer

Dr. Olyena Palyvoda is on the cutting edge of the battle against cancer using her skills as a microbiologist and technologist.  Currently, she is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Lawrence Technological University College of Engineering, within the biomedical department as well as working in the Lumigen Instrument Center at Wayne State University.

Dr. Palyvoda’s specific areas of expertise span a wide range of fields including: molecular biology, biomedicine, bioengineering and cellular imaging and developing new spectroscopy methods for rapid noninvasive cancer detection, infection and diseases. She is the author and co-author of over 20 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals published in the United States and throughout Europe. Olyena was recently awarded:
