Dan_Lohrmann_200x250Dan Lohrmann, led Michigan’s cybersecurity and technology infrastructure teams from 2002-2014, receiving numerous national awards including: CSO of the Year, Public Official of the Year and Computerworld Premier 100 Leader. During that time he was involved in crafting the state’s response to the tidal wave of cyber attacks that grew bigger and more vicious.  One of those responses was the catchy “Cyber Militia”.  Today we will see how that concept has progressed to the formation of the Michigan Cyber Civilian Corps (MiC3) and who can be involved.

You often pay more for your smartphone than your computer (clever pay-as-you-go plans hide the enormous costs) Dan Lohrmann has a blog that explores the future of computing and security.  Today we are also going to look into a future without laptops and desktops where your smartphone is the heart of your computing system. Check out Dan’s article here.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Global Automotive Cyber Security Summit

Mary Barra, GM CEOMary Barra,  of GMCEO, was one of the keynote speakers for the Global Automotive Cybersecurity Summit held at Cobo Center, July 22 in Detroit.  She challenged her fellow automotive leaders to come up with common standards for security built into each vehicle from the ground up.  There is no room for mindless duplication of effort and “competition” for these basic security guidelines.
