Hour 1: Deciding Which Kind of Computer Is Best For You
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]If there is one question that dominates our email and our listener call ins, it is “What kind of computer should I be buying?” When Gary and Foster started the program back in 1998, the answer tended to presume that you meant, “What kind of PC should I be buying?” and the usual group of name brands from Dell to HP were trotted out.
Ever since 2010, when Steve Jobs launched the category breaking iPad, the answer to that question has gotten more and more complicated. As desktops become more and more niche market devices, laptops, ultrabooks, tablets, and hybrids are offering a wide variety of options and price points. Nonetheless, the most important basic question to decide is: “What will you be doing with your new device?” In some cases, even a big smartphone might be all you need for email, surfing the web and keeping up with social media!
During the first hour of the show Gary, Ed and Foster discussed the wide variety of choices and how to narrow the choice down. Listen in before you make your buying decision.

Apple’s most recent update iOS 9.3 is causing massive problems for iPhone and iPad users. Here is an article that explains the problem and some of the workarounds to help you if your iPhone or iPad is choking to death on this ill advised update. Take Gary and Cal’s example: Don’t install Apple updates for at least a month. Let someone else (like Foster) pay for updating right away![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_separator color=”black” border_width=”4″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
