Hour 1: Meet the Winners of MCWT Scholarship Awards
The WJR studios were packed with bright young women this past Saturday, May 28. The guests were winners of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology 2016 Scholarship awards.
Rajani Sinha, Scholarship Chair for MCWT, helped to moderate the discussion. Ms. Sinha is Business Relationships Manager for IT at Fiat-Chrysler Motors.
Ariel Magyar, second year student at Grand Valley State University in Western Michigan won the Undergrad Scholarship of $15,000 over three years. This summer Ariel is interning at Disher Design and Development in Jenison, MI.
Lina Jebara just received her diploma from Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights, MI. Her prize was a powerful laptop computer that will be put to good use when she tackles computer engineering at Michigan State University this fall.
Our sincere congratulations to these talented and hard working young women. We hope that the encouragement provided by these awards and the promise of mentoring by experienced members of Michigan Council of Women in Technology will not only help them to complete their courses but to shine along the way.
