Steven Fox, is a Senior Cyber Security Officer, US Dept. of Treasury outlined changes that have occurred in exchanging security information with Europe since the Edward Snowden revelations. Safe Harbor originally allowed very liberal boundaries for exchanging data but the new regulations under Privacy Shield provide for very serious penalties for data breaches. Basically the Europeans don’t trust us any more.
Rick Broida is our Gadget Guy and noted Cheapskate. On a monthly basis Rick visits to talk about the latest in gadgetry. This month Virtual Reality is the hot topic with the release of the Samsung Galaxy VR headset.
Rick also had valuable comments to make about using VPN (Virtual Private Network) software to protect our data while surfing away from home or office.
