Joe Bastian is above all a Folkteller, someone who both appreciates recovering old tales and retelling them. Joe authored a series of graphic novels about the Nain Rouge of Detroit that was Illustrated by Patrick McEvoy. Joe is promoting a film that will kick off a fundraising campaign during the Marche du Nain Rouge in March 2016.
His Nain Rouge (Red Dwarf) character is straight out of the Detroit’s French Canadian history. On March 20, the Marche du Nain Rouge will travel down the old Cass Corridor in Detroit and end with the official expulsion of the troublesome gnome from the City on the Straits (de Troit)

Hour 2: Apple vs. The FBI and Macprofessionals

Dean Norton is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Macprofessionals, one of only two Apple Authorized Service Providers in the state of Michigan. Founded by Lisa Glush in 2000, the company has stores in Bay Harbor (Petoskey area), Novi and now in Farmington Hills.
Macprofessionals works with companies and school districts on their Apple devices through their Novi offices. The new Farmington Hills store has a friendly consumer store atmosphere at 30907 Orchard Lake Road near 14 Mile Rd. (Can you get a cup of great coffee at the Apple Stores???)

The second hour involved all the staff and Dean Norton of Macprofessionals debating the recent demand by the FBI that Apple crack the security on an iPhone 5C that was used by one of the San Bernadino terrorists. The public debate seems to range around the threat to public privacy under government pressure and the need of the government to find and stop terrorist activity in this particular instance. Where do you stand?
Scott Larson, Adjunct Professor, Spring Arbor University teaching first class on cyber security. Previously taught at Jackson College. Joined the conversation to give insights into the cybersecurity involved.
