Hello World Classroom 2015

Christina Li a senior at Utica Community Schools was among nine people from across the country recognized Tuesday in Washington, D.C. as “White House Champions of Change for Computer Science Education.” She was nominated by Debbie Taylor, assistant director of the engineering school and director of Women in Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, for the weeklong computer science camp she hosted last summer. The camp, called Hello World, taught 30 middle school girls how to code websites, games, apps and robots.

Christina was our guest exactly one year ago when she was leading a group of fellow high school students on a robotics team named the Thunder Chickens.
Donna MacMurray Klein was crowned the “eBay Lady” when she first visited our show in 2003 to help our audience understand the then booming online shopping experience led by eBay. Since then Donna has gone on to form her own business and has some strong things to say about the evolution of eBay and why you might want to think twice before making it your sole business platform.
