Apple decided it would do its own map program and not use Google any more starting with iOS6 (released 9/19/12) and the new iPhone5.  The howling from disgruntled users and bloggers just waiting for a chink in Apple’s armor to appear on their spiffy new phone has not stopped since.  Patience is called for as the app gets tuned up according the Cupertino spokespeople.

Not a good week for the folks in Redmond.  First Internet Explorer was hit with a zero-day exploit and then Germany recommended that all its citizens avoid IE entirely!  Fortunately Microsoft has now launched an update that patches this latest crater.

China Home to Mother Of All Malware Sites: 3322.org

Microsoft investigators found more than they bargained for when they traveled to China according to documents just released in a Virginia courtroom. Redmond operatives scour the globe looking for the source of phony operating systems installed on new computers.  In China they swept up 20 new computers and discovered that three of them were already infected with the malware Nitol…right off the assembly line!  Full Story
