Microsoft Open New Tech Center in Michigan

Tues., Feb. 1, Governor Rick Snyder and Microsoft GM John Fikany hosted a joint news conference announcing the official opening of the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC).  The facility opening showcases Microsoft’s continued investment in the state of Michigan and featured Chrysler Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) Scott Sandschafer, Wayne State University students and Lawrence Tech University faculty, highlighting the company’s passion for innovation and commitment to the community.  Gary Baker covered the event for WJR and the Internet Advisor.

CNet Reviews Verizon's iPhone 4

Check out this complete review including video of the iPhone 4 that has just been release on Verizon.  You can almost hear AT&T holding its breath and crossing its fingers and toes.  Personally, I would just go for an unbroken phone call on my iPhone 3GS on AT&T.  Foster Braun

Google Releases "Honecomb" OS

Wed., Feb 2, Google launched its eagerly awaited Android 3.0 operating system, nicknamed Honeycomb.  This sweet new system has been optimized  to work on the landslide of new tablets like the Motorola Xoom that debuted at CES in January and now are slowly starting to roll out.  The comparisons with Apple’s iOS mobile operating system are inevitable but Google is also desperate to have this operating system, tailored specifically for tablets, to terminate the iPad lead in the niche.

Bug Hits All Versions of Internet Explorer

“Microsoft is investigating new public reports of a vulnerability in all supported editions of Internet Explorer on all Microsoft Windows editions. The vulnerability could allow an attacker to cause a victim to run malicious scripts when visiting various Web sites, resulting in information disclosure.  IE has over 900 million users worldwide.  Microsoft has published a one-click “Fix it” workaround for the bug that involved locking down MHTML. This will prevent the launch of script in all zones within an MHTML document. Any application that uses MHTML will be affected by this workaround.” Full Article.
