some web pages i go to show up as mobile.  for example when i go to http://www.bestbuy.com the address bar shows http://m.bestbuy.com/m/b/ . i assume that there is a setting that is messed up but do not know where.  i am on a laptop and using a mifi in my home.  the problem started a couple weeks ago while using the library wifi.

How do you go to that link?  What I am asking is do you type it in or are you using a link under your bookmarks, or the links feature of windows?  If there is an other way you are using please let us know what that way is.

If you are using a link under your bookmarks or links feature, you can edit the link and remove the extra charters from the link.

One other thing I would try is to go as you have been and when the wrong site comes up go to the address bar and remove the extra charters and hit the enter key and see what happens.

Please report back what you discover.

First, we need to figure out if this is merely a problem with the browser, or if it's a system-wide issue (i suspect it's only a browser issue).

What browser are you using?  I suspect it's Internet Explorer 8.  If so, try do download a different browser (Google Chrome is a good choice).  Browse to bestbuy.com, and report back.
