I reloaded my Vista OS.  There were a ton of updates to do and I ran all the updates before realizing the SP1 and SP2 were not among the listed updates.  Consequently, about a dozen updates failed to install.  I have no reason why other than they may have required that SP1 and/or SP2 be installed first.  I have since installed SP1 and SP2 with no problem.

Do I need to worry about the "failed" updates?  If yes, how would I go back and install them since they no longer appear on the "update" list?

If you've now successfully installed SP1 and SP2, and those "failed updates" aren't showing up anymore, I wouldn't worry about it.  SP2 (and to a lesser extent, SP1) contains a rollup of previous updates, so your failed updates were probably rolled up in one of the service packs.

I totally with Warrantyvoider.

Have you, after all the hassle of the Dl's, restarted your computer and made sure that there wasn't something new that needed to be download?

Don't expect MS to be your friend. You have to vigilant and search for all the fixes Ms offers.

Not trashing MS, but if you don't look for yourself you will never find all the fixes and info Microsoft offers.
