I purchased a Dell computer in the past 4 months and have started getting distortion in the microsoft programs; most notably in Excel.  However, it is evident in IE8 and other Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Outlook.  Excell is the worst.  Dell tells me it is a software problem and they don't cover that under their warranty even though they pre-loaded the software.  Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I'm going to go out on a limb and taking a guess what the poster is calling distortion. Perhaps the screen resolution is set too high/low and or the height/width ratio needs to be changed.
