I create voice books in my home recording studio. For more lengthly books I scan the pages into a word processing program, make annotations as necessary, and save the files to another computer. I then use the second computer much like a teleprompter using the scroll wheel on a mouse to scan the pages as I read.

The problem is the scroll wheel when it contacts the microswitch makes enough noise to be picked up by my microphone. I have tried dozens of mouses, lubricant, sound muffling devices to no avail. My microphone still picks up the click click of the scroll wheel as it is advanced.

Is anyone aware of an inexpensive teleprompter program or have suggestions about quiet mice?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
