I am not happy with my current ISP AT&T. It frequently disconnects and tech support is the worst I have ever seen for any company. I have thier DSL not U-verse. Can anyone recommend a better ISP?

ISPs are specific to where you live, generally. Most often you will have only 2, DSL from the phone company and your cable provider. Some places have 2 cable providers but not often. Cable is generally faster than DSL depending on what speed you pay for.
As far as support… Well they all can be not so good.
Your option is to try cable if you have it where you live.

“As far as support… Well they all can be not so good.”
That is true and I am tired of just accepting it. We should all be "mad as hell and not take it anymore." Every time I am connected to India or Pakistan they make me jump through the same hoops and always promise "yes yes sir this will work" even though I already have "checked the cables" and "rebooted." In my case the internet works in the morning, but at night when they do not have service calls it all goes down.
Why do we keep handing our money over to these companies that clearly do not care about any one individual customer?

I have no idea of the phone co setup where you live, but I am on an small independent phone co that provides DSL. When they first started the DSL I was one of the ginie pigs to to help them get the bugs out. After the initial setup it worked fine for a while then as they got more customers it got slower and slower soon after the kids got out of school each afternoon and evening. This lasted for a while and then they got a bigger pipe line coming in to the central office. This eliminated the slow speed after school hours.
I am wondering if your phone co could have a similar problem as long as it is at night when the kids may be more active.

I thought that too, but the phone tech said that for DSL it does not matter how many are using it. But then what else is he going to say? :(
