I have an HP 5400 printer and an HP 5470 All-In-One scanner-printer that i use with my 4 year old Compaq (now HP) 3200+ computer.  I regularly get popup windows tellling me to install updates.  I think that i remember hearing on one of the IA radio programs that HP puts a lot of 'junk' on your computer.  It I do the updates, do I risk getting junk or is it still advisable to do the updates?  Thanks.  LP

If everything is working fine, I generally just ignore the updates with HP printers. They usually just slow you down. Just check to be sure they are not security updates, those you should install.
