I have to admit I really do not know a lot of computer basics.  I just learned how to find my own IP address by entering “cmd” into Start>Run in Vista.  I learned I can access my router by putting that address into my web browser.  As I look through the router manual I realize there are many things I do not know.  Is there one “go to” book any of you can recommend to learn this stuff that does not assume I am a computer wiz like all of you guys are?

Thanks in advance.

Great Question.  You could read a book, or many books.

But I have found that you can type any question into http://www.youtube.com or http://www.google.com  and get a pretty good answer.

Example – go to youtube and type in what is a wireless router DHCP, or DMZ, you will get a video answer.

Thanks for your reply.  Sometimes I do not know what I don't know.  As I scan my router manual I see it showing how to use and do things, but I do not even know the reasons to do some of these things.  I can make a browser go places like here, and I can do basics with Quicken, but is there a written book resource that gets under the hood a little for the layman?
