I've followed the steps to blacklist the nouveau driver and then compile the driver from the nVidia site, it doesn't compile due to it not being GPLed. I've also tried using the driver provided by Livna/RPM Fusion-nonfree and neither method works. So I'm left using the nouveau driver which is sluggish when compared to what I had when running Fedora 11 with the nVidia driver.

I'm thinking of either switching back to Fedora 11 or using Ubuntu or maybe even OpenSUSE naaah I'd rather use F11.

For what it's worth, I've been using Ubuntu for some time.  While perhaps a little less "geeking-edge" than some other distros, I'm generally able to accomplish what I need to with it.
